The $25 million investment names the Schnitzer School of Global Studies and Languages

In the last few weeks, the US Department of Homeland Security has revoked the visa status of four international students at the University of Oregon. Since that time, and with the help of outside legal counsel, all four students have found pathways to remain in the US legally. Additionally, as of 3:00 p.m. on April 27, all four students have had their visa status reactivated, one via court action.

Apply by May 15 for up to two Global Education Oregon grants

Dennis Galvan, vice provost for global engagement, sent the following message to international students, faculty, and staff on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Dear Colleagues,
In the last few weeks, the US Department of Homeland Security has terminated the visa status of international students across the US and also at the UO. Four of our students have experienced such termination as of this writing.
