Celebrating 20 years of Dance Africa

Where: Dougherty Dance Theatre, Gerlinger Annex

The year 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of the University of Oregon’s Dance Africa program, a Department of Dance repertory company. To commemorate Dance Africa’s legacy of celebrating the diverse dances of Africa, company co-founder and director Rita Honka has planned an engaging winter concert scheduled for January 24 through 26. The celebration will feature guest artists, as well as the return of Dance Africa alumni.

Join us for our capstone event of Dance Africa's 20th anniversary season, featuring current and former Dance Africa company members, as well as special guest artists Mandjou and Salif Kone, and Habib Iddrissu. Tickets are available in advance from the UO Ticket Office, 541-346-4363, and may be available at the door except in the case of a sold out performance. In addition to an 8 p.m. performance each evening, a special 2 p.m. matinee performance will be offered on Saturday, January 26.
