The International Student Association (ISA) announced this week that it will be moving its iconic Coffee Hour to the Ford Alumni Center Ballroom. The event, a weekly mixer that fosters interaction between international students and the community at large, has traditionally been held at Mills International Center every Friday from 4-6 p.m. since 1982. However, the current reconstruction of the EMU has greatly hampered the weekly meet-up.
ISA is changing venues in order to continue to provide a safe space for both domestic students and international students to come together.
“Given the rich history of ISA's Coffee Hour, we ask for your continued support in our quest for providing the University of Oregon Campus Community with the best possible platform for both domestic and international students to interact with each other and learn more about each other's cultures over a cup of hot coffee and finger food,” said Sandra Benny, president of ISA.
Starting winter 2015, Coffee Hour will be held in the Ford Alumni Center Ballroom and will happen on weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8.
Come Spring 2015, Coffee Hour will be held in the EMU Amphitheater weekly except for weeks 5 and 6.
ISA serves and represents a community of more than 3,000 international students. Coffee Hour is a community event that continues to draw more than 300 students per week. For more information or to support Coffee Hour contact Sandra Benny at sbenny@uoregon.edu
