FYI: Work-Study is a specific type of part-time job available to students based on financial need. If a job says it requires Work-Study, you must have accepted an award on Duckweb. There will still be LOTS of jobs at this event that do not require work-study in order to apply--something for everyone!

Hop on the bus and let’s go explore PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center RiverBend in Springfield for a behind-the-scenes tour and Q&A with healthcare leaders just for UO students! Learn more about all the different types of job functions needed to keep this growing industry booming--from both the medical and business sides. They are excited to introduce you to career paths, meet alumni and leaders, and show off some of their innovations in action!

 

This event is FREE, open to all majors, and bring a friend! Must register on Handshake to save your spot! Tour limited to 40 students, but if we have enough students on the waitlist we can create a 2nd tour so sign up even if it looks full!

 

OUTLINE OF TOUR:

Meet near the duck statue outside Matt Knight Arena Box Office/Ford Alumni Center NO LATER THAN 9am; We'll walk over to the bus stop (Agate) to catch the EMX to the hospital in Springfield. Tour from 10am-1pm. At 1 pm we'll be done with the tour and there will be a group getting on the bus to head back to campus you can join OR feel free to go grab lunch or have fun in Springfield!

The Division of Graduate Studies invites you to a one-day conference showcasing the research, scholarship, and creative expressions of UO graduate students. The forum regularly showcases the work of more than 100 students representing more than 35 disciplines. Join us for the popular poster session and the panel presentations!

To participate, all graduate-level students are invited to submit a proposal by April 17, 2024. All accepted posters will be judged. Posters are categorized by field; first place in each category will win $300. Panels will instead be pre-selected. All accepted panels will receive $250 per panelist.

The University of Oregon Huafeng Magazine will host the 2016 Huafeng Graduation Banquet.

Join Huafeng Magazine for food and refreshments.

A video of graduation wishes from professors or other staff on campus will be shown to celebrate the graduates. There will also be guests speakers, such as alumni who work in US now and some parents.

Doors open at 6:30 pm and the event starts at 7:00 pm.

Mexican-American writer Reyna Grande, who won an American Book Award for her first novel and was named a finalist for a National Books Critic Circle Award for her memoir, will headline the upcoming CSWS Northwest Women Writers Symposium.

Where: Lawrence Hall 115

Marlen Sánchez and Nils McCune, both of the Nicaraguan Via Campesina organization Asociación de Trabajadores del Campo, will highlight the work of Via Campesina at a May 2 appearance at the UO.

Sánchez and McCune will discuss efforts to construct the Instituto Agroecológico Latinoamericano Mesoamérica, or the Latin American Institute of Agroecology of Mesoamerica, in Santo Tomás, Nicaragua. The talk, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. in Room 115, Lawrence Hall.

On April 27, 6-8 pm in Straub Hall 145, UO Sociology Professor Michael Dreiling will screen his revelatory documentary, A Bold Peace, on the impact of Costa Rica's radical choice of national disarmament.

The Division of Equity and Inclusion is co-sponsoring a county-wide town hall event coming up in April.  The Women’s Foundation will visit with communities across Oregon and will take everything they learn from their town halls to include it in a major report on the status of women and girls in Oregon.  They would like to hear from as many women as possible from all different backgrounds to find out the issues that matter most to us here.
