UO’s NSRC receives new NSF grant award

The National Science Foundation announced this week that the UO’s Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) is the recipient of a $3,732,343 award as part of the agency’s International Research Network Connections program.

The award is the largest active NSF grant to any academic department or center at the UO.

The Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) develops network communications infrastructure and local engineering capacity in areas of the world where inadequate research and education network connectivity poses a significant barrier to collaborations with US scientists and educators. NSRC achieves this through targeted capacity building activities and partnerships with universities, Internet service providers, industry, government and supranational agencies in Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Latin America-Caribbean, and North America.

NSRC is an affiliate of the Global Studies Institute (GSI).
