Exchange Partners

Access to more

The University of Oregon has exchange partnerships with more than three dozen universities around the world. Some exchange universities are ranked among the most prestigious universities in the world, granting access to unique opportunities. On a direct exchange program, students will usually directly enroll in the university alongside local students and be able to choose from a wide range of courses offered at that university. This provides our students with a level of independence and flexibility unmatched by most study abroad programs. Direct exchanges offer the advantage of full immersion in the local university life. Although a university may be in a country where the official language is not English, many offer courses entirely, or partially, in English. Other direct exchange universities offer students the opportunity to apply their advanced foreign language skills in all subject areas.

Affordability

Participating on a direct exchange can also have financial advantages. With different rates for in-state and out-of-state students, the cost of a direct exchange if often comparable to what students pay at the University of Oregon. Some direct exchange university partners also provide funding resources of their own for UO students.

Making it happen

Direct exchanges can accommodate any UO major or minor. The GEO website gives students the ability to search by program type; allowing for narrow search results to Exchanges only.
