| Extension of I-20 |
When you first receive your I-20 from the University of Oregon the program end date (expiration date) is a standard date for all students at that level. For example, undergraduate students generally receive about 5 years on the I-20. Graduate students generally receive about 3 years on the I-20. This time frame is based on the average length of time it takes for UO students to complete their programs. You may need to extend your I-20 if you will not graduate by the end date on your I-20. This is something the Office of International Affairs can do for you. Please follow the instructions below. How to Extend Your I-20Please submit the following documents to the receptionist in the Office of International Affairs (333 Oregon Hall). Extensions generally take about one week to be completed. • Completed and signed I-20 • Your current I-20 (copy is okay); and • Your unofficial Duckweb transcript.
REMEMBER: You must apply for an extension before your I-20 will expire! Please do not wait until the last minute.
