The Welcome Host Family Program is a free, short-term hospitality program run by the Friendship Foundation for International Students for new UO international students. Local families and individuals host new international students for a few days at the beginning of each term (except summer), at no cost to the student. The Welcome Host Family Program is designed to help new international students feel welcome upon arrival and get them connected with the community. Experience has taught us that international students are more likely to be successful when they make connections with families and friends from the very beginning. (Note: This program is not available to students attending the American English Institute (AEI) at the UO.)

The dates of the Welcome Host Family Program directly precede the opening of on-campus housing and International Student Orientation. The dates vary with each term.

Fall Term: September 10 - 15, 2011

Winter Term: January 4 - 8, 2012
